The Wharf Nursery School

Special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEN/D)

The Wharf Nursery School believes in a proactive approach to helping children with special needs. The special needs team are committed to involving parents in planning for progress and identifying individual strengths and specific needs for each child. We firmly believe that parents know their children best and we see them as part of our team.

For the majority of each session children are supported to play and  learn alongside their friends. The children also have use of a designated room which is used for individual and small group work sessions. We also have a sensory room where children enjoy exploring an exciting array of resources specially designed to help with coordination and concentration.

We work very closely with educational psychologists and other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and other relevant specialists in order to achieve the best we can for each child. If you have any questions or queries relating to your own child please contact us at The Wharf. We are always happy to help.

Please feel free to come and talk to us if you have any questions.
