The Wharf Nursery School

Nursery Sessions

Children usually start nursery in the term after their third birthday and are then entitled to 15 hours of free education per week. We do not charge top-up fees.

 2½days

Most children attend for 2½ days a week in one of the following classes:

Green Rockets:  Monday 8.55am – 2.55pm, Tuesday 8.55am – 2.55pm, Wednesday 8.55am – 11.55am

Blue Rockets:     Wednesday 12.30pm – 3.30pm, Thursday 8.55am – 2.55pm, Friday 8.55am –2.55pm

 Full-Time

We also have a full-time class. These places are mainly occupied by children eligible for a 30-hour place, or are partly funded by the parents.

Yellow Rockets:    Monday – Friday: 9.05am – 3.05pm

 2-year-old group

We also offer places to children in the term after their second birthday. As this is only a small group, places are limited.  These places are either fee-paying or are funded through the Free Early Education for Two-year-olds scheme (FEET).  Please click here for more information about FEET-funding and other forms of government funding.

Little Stars:  Monday - Friday: 9am - 12noon.

 30-hour places
We accept some children for government-funded 30-hour places:  Monday - Friday 9.05am - 3.05pm. To find out if you are eligible, please click here for the government website, and let us know if you may be eligible when applying for a nursery place here. See below for our Wharf Leaflet about 30-hour places.
